A full lifecycle customer communication system was developed across both Shoprite and Checkers Rewards programmes, mapping every stage of the shopper journey — from first-time sign-up to high-value loyalty tiers.

The strategy segmented customers by behaviour, frequency and basket patterns, enabling targeted messaging that responded to real shopping habits. From onboarding flows to restock prompts and high-value reward unlocks, each communication was designed to feel timely, relevant and commercially intelligent.

While the creative expression adapted to each brand’s CI, the underlying UX framework and segmentation logic remained consistent — forming a scalable communication engine across two of South Africa’s largest retail ecosystems.
